City of Buffalo, New York
Intern Urban Planner/GIS Analyst
May 2011 — August 2011
The Mayor's Office of Strategic Planning provides management of the planning issues that affect the quality of life and economic vitality in the City of Buffalo, New York. While working as an Intern GIS Analyst/Urban Planner, I worked on the following two projects:
Buffalo Green Code:
The Buffalo Green Code Project aims to update the current Zoning Ordinance and Land Use regulation to promote healthy, sustainable development in economy, environment and society in Buffalo. I facilitated Green Infrastructure Stakeholder Meeting, and record participants' comment; analyzed thousands of questionnaires from previous Neighborhood Workshops for online distribution.
Neighborhood Redevelopment Plans:
The Neighborhood Redevelopment Plans Project is an action agenda focusing on leveraging private investment into urban redevelopment. I conducted site surveys, updated City GIS data, and created maps depicting current land uses, vacancy, greening, and infrastructure in the Highland Park Community, which was input into the draft neighborhood redevelopment plan and later part of the City policy.
