I provide a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their homes, including companionship and home helper services.

Companionship services are those that stimulate, encourage, and assist an individual. Primary responsibilities of companionship services include:

* Providing companionship and conversation
* Providing stabilization and assistance with walking
* Preparing meals and cleaning up meal-related items
* Providing medication and appointment reminders

Home helper services generally involve light housekeeping, errands, or incidental transportation. Primary responsibilities include:

* Performing light housekeeping tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, making beds, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, etc.
* Washing and ironing laundry
* Running errands
* Accompanying clients to appointments

Receptionist

• Responsible for switchboard operations for the Department of Health, providing directional guidance and/or seeking and providing information. Redirects incoming department calls on a daily basis to appropriate numbers, branches, departments, and agencies. Transmits accurate and comprehensive messages in a timely manner. Ensures that calls are handled with tact, diplomacy and courtesy.

• High level of understanding and commitment to customer service within government.

• Greets visitors to the Minister and Deputy Minister’s offices. Interacts with visitors and callers by providing directional guidance, determining the nature of the request/concern and providing available information.

• Screens all incoming external calls for the Executive Offices keeping abreast of the Minister and Deputy Minister schedules. Determines priority and routing of calls in consultation with Executive Office administrative staff.

• Provides secretarial assistance to the Minister and Deputy Minister’s Office and the Executive Office Manager as required. Prepares general correspondence, memos, letters, sends faxes and assists with filing.

• Provides clerical support to the Correspondence Team by logging and routing a high volume of incoming and outgoing Executive correspondence into a Correspondence Tracking System (db).

• Observes traffic for potential security risks to the Executive Offices. Activates security measures as required and in consultation with Executive Office staff.

• Coordinates booking requests for various meetings/conference rooms.

• Good knowledge of Word, GroupWise and Database.

• Good knowledge of the Department’s activities and of the functions and activities of each branch.

• Sensitive to confidentiality issues; the needs and requirements of senior management, various government departments and external public and able to use tact, diplomacy and discretion in interactions.

• Skilled in exercising good judgment in informing departmental staff of important issues and setting workload priorities.

• Assists in the production of Project and proposal documents to ensure professional appearance, including clerical work, copying, binding etc.

• Generate Project Numbers (obtain all required information, generate and maintain project files, administration files, the Project Book, the Project Book Spreadsheet, the corporate client database).

• Edit and format reports.

• Compile .pdf copies of reports.

• Print and bind reports, create data CDs and email or package for delivery to clients.

• Schedule asbestos training courses and maintain course registrant information.

• Conduct customer satisfaction surveys by calling current and previous customers and asking questions pertaining to the work we had provided and how we could improve on our services.

• Prepare and submit monthly CPC Status Logs.

• Maintenance of photocopiers and printers (order supplies, troubleshoot, make service calls).

• Project, proposal and miscellaneous document filing.

• Assist with proposal preparation (organizational charts, staff resumes, project descriptions, work breakdown structure spreadsheets) and organize and maintain all relevant information on an on-going basis.

• General office/administration duties (i.e. clerical, typical, photocopying, faxing, etc.).

• Source and order corporate promotional items (shirts, jackets, hats, other items etc.).

• Act as liaison between Project and Corporate Services (Administration) staff.

• Maintain a positive, co-operative attitude as duties and responsibilities evolve over time.

• Compile and manage (keep up to date) appropriate sub-contractor information (i.e. insurance certificates, letters of good standing, agreements, company information and applicable certifications etc.).

• Complete monthly project reporting for Canada Post (as required by the CPC contract).

• Create and maintain a database of employee training information including current certifications, training expirations, requirements for refresher training. Notify Managers when re-training and re-certification training is required. Update the database as new training is completed.
