Advise and successfully retain over 450+ psychology student majors, double majors, and minors
Engage students in learning, promote their academic success, and promote student’s personal and intellectual growth
Provide campus-based resources and make students aware of the campus and departmental opportunities available to them
Interact with students in a positive manner and educate them on requirements of the psychology major/minor so that students are able to make informed decisions towards their educational goals
Connect students to alumni to foster an understanding of the degree as well as potential careers, and opportunities as a psychology major
Work with Qualtrics, a University based survey creation system to help generate feedback from student advisees
Serve as chair for the department’s curriculum committee
Maintain a high level of confidentiality and adhering to FERPA rules and regulations and Title IX policies and procedures
Maintain a complete records and filing system with Microsoft Excel, create email templates through Microsoft Word to communicate important dates and deadlines to all current students, and utilize Microsoft PowerPoint in giving presentations to current and prospective students
Teach the PSYC 320 - Professional Development and Ethics course, which focuses on student's professional development and preparation for either a career or graduate/professional school. A portion of the course also covers ethical components as they relate to the workplace or graduate/professional schools.
