I'm interested in the themed entertainment industry, the business side of the entertainment industry, fostering relationships with mentors and meeting the fantastic women on this site who are as invested in getting women into all levels of business as I am!

The Walt Disney Studios
May 2013 — July 2013
I was lucky to have the opportunity to work with some truly amazing people at the Piracy Management Department at the Walt Disney Studios, helping with the roll out of their Enterprise Risk Management Tool used by thousands of vendors around the world.
In my position, I provided premium service through written, verbal, and in-person communications to both internal and external customers looking to work with Disney/Marvel content. I assisted the Program Director by providing reports on the progress of the program- daily, weekly, and as needed- as well as by entering and analyzing data. I used my knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook and Excel, to assist in the data analytics and reporting. I was able to work with a great team and learn very quickly on the job, as it was a short-term project, but it was full of that Disney magic nonetheless!
UCLA Police Department
May 2010 — March 2013
I worked as an Administrative Assistant all throughout my undergraduate career at UCLA, helping the management promote public relations between the Police, the Community Service Officers ("the student eyes and ears of the Police Department"), and the UCLA community.
I worked primarily with the Community Service Officers, or CSOs, who are the student branch of the department, ensuring that they were equipped and prepared for their work, as well as scheduling them for quarterly and weekly shifts. Working with over 70 students, my resourcefulness and problem-solving skills were greatly developed, as student life can sometimes lead to surprises in a work environment, while I maintained my punctuality and dependability. I was promoted to order all supplies for the office, as well as coordinating the Probationary periods for new employees as the Probation Supervisor. Lastly, I had a hand in event planning as well, assisting with the annual Violent Crime Behavioral Analysis Seminar, working with both UCPD and the FBI. I learned a great deal about leadership and working as a part of a wonderful team here.
Donna Riesen Piano Studio
June 2009 — June 2012
I have studied piano for most of my life, so teaching others to learn all about this wonderful instrument was a logical next step. Little did I know how much planning and preparation goes into crafting lessons for others, but over these last four years, I have grown to love my time teaching students almost as much as playing piano myself.
My duties at the studio include creating and tailoring lesson plans for each students' needs, which can mean up to 5 hours of planning for one hour of teaching. I also assist the Studio Head in organizing and supervising student group classes and recitals outside of the studio. I know it's clichéd to say, but I really do feel like I learn as much from my students as they learn from me. Teaching about something I truly love is a very gratifying experience for me!
Six Flags Magic Mountain
Group Sales Representative/Picnic Coordinator
May 2009 — August 2009
I developed my love of themed entertainment here at Six Flags when I worked this wonderful summer job before starting UCLA. Getting to be around the park's management AND inside the park, interacting with guests, was all you could ask for from a summer job!
