Post-Operative Recovery Nurse

Anesthetic and Post-Operative recovery Nurse for Rebalance Retreat. Providing the highest level of recovery for patients having undergone elective cosmetic procedures. Patients are received 1hr post-op, after being cleared by surgeon. Patients admitted have undergone up to 10 operations. Extensive experience the full spectrum of recovery process is imperative. Understanding of Anesthetic effects on body systems and Superb assessment skills utilized, providing prompt recognition of emergent situations/abnormalities. Experienced and comfortable implementing emergency interventions to ensure patient safety.
Highly experienced in wound care (including extensive/severe wounds), Jackson Pratt and other drainage systems, Wound Vac therapy, Subcutaneous pain pumps, Foley Catheters, Sequential Compression devices, and stable/suture removal.
Requirements during shift include, but not limited to: intake assessment and admission protocol, Taking and recording vital signs periodically, SQ and IM injections, Medication administration, implementation and following of auxiliary therapies per Surgeon's instructions, maintaining communication and good relationship with surgeon/ surgical staff, detail oriented documentation, organizational and management skills, exceptional bedside manner and development of rapport with patient, assistance with repositioning/ambulating, provision of comfort measures, ice therapy, massage therapy, hydration/nutrition schedule. Transportation to and from appointments with Surgeon, assistance provided to surgeon as needed. Patient teaching provided to patient (and if desired) family members. Ardent patient advocacy demonstrated. Rebalance Nurses are expected to work independently, efficiently, and safely.

Responsible for up to 23 patients at a time. Periodic blood sugar checks, insulin administration, monitoring of IV medications, IM SQ and ID injections, and breathing treatments/suction. Wound care performed daily. Foley Catheter insertion done regularly. Taking/ monitoring vital signs. Monitoring and prompt recognition of signs and symptoms of complications. Emergency recognition and response.
Able to work well under high pressure/stressful situations. Proficient with EMR computer system.

Nursing care for a toddler age 19 months. Duties include strict assessment of child's changing conditions, prompt response and intervention of abnormal findings, monitoring of VP shunt, sterile dressing changes to central line site, G-tube medication administration, G-tube feedings (bolus/pump), injections, pain management and wound care. Activities to stimulate neurological and motor function prescribed by MD.
Childcare of two boys diagnosed with autism, ages 5 and 7. Duties included care of daily needs, providing a nurturing environment as well as assisting with behavioral therapy.
