Primary responsibilities include obtaining signed supporting depositions from police officers involved in misdemeanor cases prosecuted within the New York County District Attorney’s Office.
Liaising with police officers and various NY County Assistant District Attorneys; including explaining to officers why the depositions needed are critical to moving forward with cases being processed.
Managing and tracking supporting depositions needed through proprietary computer software and producing statistical reports based on the program’s information.
Identifying which precincts are compliant with returning signed depositions and focusing on improving the return rates for those that are out of standard practice.
Organizing and filing supporting depositions in courtrooms based on adjournment dates on behalf of the New York County District Attorneys.
Assisted in the management of additional proprietary software to collect and distribute supporting depositions to police officers. Performed project management and software as a liaison between the Witness Aid Services Unit & the Information Technology Department within the New York County District Attorney’s Office.
