Publicity Assistant at Artisan Books

As part of a team of three publicists, I aid Artisan’s Director of Publicity and Marketing and Senior Publicist in implementing publicity campaigns for up to 16 nonfiction lifestyle books a year. My duties include planning travel for authors, providing administrative support for our team, writing targeted press materials including Q&A’s with authors and press releases to send to media, and actively seeking national, regional, online, and broadcast outlets to pitch our current and upcoming titles as well as promote previously published books from Artisan’s extensive catalog.
I also independently oversee one lifestyle/craft publicity campaign per season, which includes conceiving of marketing and event opportunities, orchestrating book events, managing author and event coordinator expectations and relations, crafting press materials, and securing media timed to the book’s publication.
Finally, I conduct the hiring process for Artisan’s publicity intern and supervise his/her daily tasks.
