Home Instead

Kent County, MI

Hello I'm Bianca Andrews and what I do is love people. I am a coordinator and care giver extraordinaire. my background is in working with at risk individuals such as the mentally ill, impoverished, and elderly. I specialize in therapeutic/educational entertainment, living skills, and daily care of the home/person.

Home Instead Senior Care

Care Giver

Yes my job is cleaning houses, and giving medication reminders. it's toileting, and aiding in mobility. But it's also sharing stories, learning recipes as I help someone cook, learning about a lifetime, and providing my clients with respect and companionship.

Muskegon Community College

Associates of Arts and Sciences, Psychology

My passion has always been helping people, and my focus in school was gaining the skills necessary for my then place of employment, Empowerment Network. I focused on Behavioral Therapy, Sign Language, and General Psychology. Much of what I learned has followed me into all facets of my life.

Notions Marketing Corporation

Consolidation Stager

What I liked about this job was learning what I did about Linux software, and learning more about consolidation. I love puzzles, and challenges, so being the person that had to track down misplaced items, or undo mistakes before they hit shipping was actually kind of fun. I also enjoyed being able to give input that affected future programming!

"The only source of knowledge is experience." Albert Einstein "A good leader takes a little more than their share of the blame, and a little less than their share of the credit." Arnold H Glasow "Patience and Diligence, like faith, removes mountains." William Penn

I loved the ability to express myself creatively in this job. One time we had an over abundance of long yeast donuts without filling, so i frosted them to look like hot dogs. They were so cute people stopped just to photograph them. It always makes me happy to make others happy.

Empowerment Network

Activities Coordinator

The best thing about working for a non-profit like Empowerment Network is seeing the growth your consumers have. Sometimes teaching daily living skills like cooking, or what to call the police for opened huge doors in little ways. Sometimes the lessons opened the door for me: helping someone make friends, advocating for someone who was in an abusive situation, providing Christmas dinner for someone who otherwise wouldn't have one. I am just glad to have such a loving community to accept me, and to be able to give back to.
