Augsburg College

Bachelors Degree, Social Work

My education has taken place inside and outside the classroom. I strongly believe Augsburg has a great combination of these two experiences. As a student, I learned about personal time management, setting goals, fostering relationships, challenging myself, and mentoring. While I studied full time, I worked a full time job (at Children's Hospital), maintained an internship (Junior and Senior years), and was in the Dean's list all the years I attended at Augsburg. I am proud to say I graduated with program Honors (Social Work Honor Society) and school Honors (Cum Laude). I was able to surpass all the barriers against me to obtain an education, I know I will succeed.

CLUES

Children's Mental Health Case Manager

As a Children's Mental Health Case Manager, I provided case management services to children considered to be “Severally Emotionally Disturbed (SED)”. Develop and monitored the clients’ treatment plans, provided crisis intervention and/or plans for clients and their families and coordinated accessibility to needed community and county services. The role required me to be bilingual and bi-cultural to foster and create a positive relationship with agencies, and clients. In this role, I worked various computer and standardized outcome measures tools for all children receiving clinical services.
