The role of Head of Internal Audit covers the Wessex Water Ltd group of companies and reports to the board, providing assurance against their risk management processes. The role commends open access to all companies resources and operates independently from all trading functions.

The roles responsibilities cover;
- Control of the internal assurance programme
- Oversight of all external assurance programmes
- Oversight and strategic direction for external accreditations and certifications
- Creation and management of the group policy structure

The role also had the responsibility for;
- Optimisation of auditing functions across the group of companies
- Responsibility for compliance to all major legislation and fraud risk prevention
