Did you know that there are benefits to making lists, and they’re not just limited to the workplace? Check out these five lists that we keep updated regularly so we can make the most of our free time! These lists encompass various to-do list ideas and an effective to-do list format that aid in maximizing our leisure hours.

A travel wish list.

Having a travel wish list is not only fun, but also motivating. It gives you something to look forward to and plan. If you are able to take multiple trips throughout the year, consider making two sections on your list—short trips and longer vacations.

Short-term, we hope to visit Nashville, Savannah, Cape Cod, and Washington wine country. Our longer list of potential travel destinations includes Peru, Argentina, Ireland, and New Zealand.

A reading list.

Not only is making a reading list fun, but it’s also a great way to start conversations. Keep this list on your smart phone so you can always add to or share it. Consider this list as part of the to-do list to enhance your reading experience and social interactions.

A shopping list.

Maintaining a shopping list is the best way to build your wardrobe smartly and efficiently. Keep it updated regularly, and consult and edit it as needed.

A “bucket list.”

A bucket list is a great way to set goals for yourself outside of the professional context. It can include all sorts of things from running a marathon, to meeting a certain person, to going to a certain restaurant, or taking on a certain personal project. Whatever the event might be, build a list so that you ensure you conquer it! Consider adding these items to your daily to-do list of personal aspirations for a more fulfilling life.

A future goals list.

Having a plan for our goals, both personal and professional, helps us stay on track and make wiser choices. Many believe that establishing these goals is the most crucial step in making sure we actually achieve them. Just like with travel plans, make separate lists for short-term and long-term objectives—and update them yearly at the very least. These lists align with things to-do list that encompass short-term and long-term goals for better planning and accomplishment.
