A recent study found that almost half of all millennials would rather work from home than earn a raise.

The ability to work from home has become increasingly popular in recent years, especially among millennials. Research shows that one in five Americans already work from home, and by 2016, this number is expected to rise to more than 63 million.

These ten productivity hacks will ensure that you have a successful work day, whether you work from home or not.

1. Develop a morning ritual that works for you.

Research shows that having a morning routine can help increase productivity. Find what works for you and stick to it!

To help you get out of bed in the morning, do whatever gets you moving. This can be something as simple as spending an hour doing yoga or drinking coffee and catching up on your favorite blogs. Find what works for you and stick to it!

2. Determine the hours of the day when you’re most creative.

A common productivity mistake some Millennials make when working from home is they work during their most unproductive hours of the day.

Do you find yourself struggling to focus later in the day? By getting up a few hours earlier, you can make the most of your time and get things done when you’re feeling fresh. This way, you’ll feel less stressed at work overall.

3. Make a daily “tomorrow list” to help you plan and stay organized.

A “tomorrow list” is a great way to get yourself organized and motivated for the next work day.

At the end of your work day, take a couple of minutes to jot down crucial tasks you need to complete tomorrow. By doing this, when you log back onto work the next day, you’ll already be aware of what needs to get done.

4. Having a designated office space will help you stay focused and organized.

Working from home has its perks, but after a while, you might start to feel stir-crazy if you never leave your house. If you’ve been stuck inside for a couple of weeks and are starting to get cabin fever, it’s probably time to switch up your workspace.

If you’re feeling stuck creatively, here are some tips to work from home: try something new and take your office to a local Starbucks or coworking space for the day. This way, you can refresh your work environment while interacting with other people.

5. Be your boss.

It can be tricky for Millennials to remain productive when working from home–particularly when there’s no one around to hold you accountable.

To avoid the challenges that come with procrastination, try to approach your work from a “boss” mindset. Consider what one of your supervisors does on an average day—this should inspire you to work harder and more efficiently.

6. Compete against the clock.

A way to avoid procrastination is by working against the clock. For example, if you have to write an article for a client, allow yourself only 30 minutes so that you can get as many ideas down without any distractions. Once your time is up, look away from your work for a couple of minutes and then come back with fresh eyes to edit.

7. Reap the benefits of a flexible schedule.

Working from home has a lot of benefits for Millennials. For example, you can do laundry or take your dog for a walk during your lunch break.

You can also use your flexible schedule to make lunch plans with a friend or go grocery shopping in the afternoon. If you’re getting your work done and your boss is happy with your performance, there shouldn’t be a problem making time for some personal tasks during the day.

8. Get up and move around.

Achieving a work-life balance is tough when you’re telecommuting, but fitness can help. If you start to feel overwhelmed by work, make time to refresh yourself each day. For example, after working for two hours in the morning, go on a jog. This will give your brain a chance to recharge and change up your scenery.

9. Find your “zone.”

To be productive, you need to find out what allows you to produce the most during the work day. Do you think better in silence, or does listening to music or a podcast help your creativity? Make sure to use whatever gets you motivated each day so that progress can be made.

10. Communicate with your boss.

The best way to stay productive is by keeping your boss in the loop. As soon as you think you might miss a deadline or get stuck on something, reach out and let them know. That way, they can help give you some clarity during your work day and keep you focused on what’s important
