As an operations intern, I developed a staffing efficiency initiative that assisted anesthesia groups at Houston hospitals match their staffing model with actual case demand. In one instance, a group in Northeast Houston came to us overworked and understaffed with an outdated business model. Using billing information and data analytics, I helped produce a revenue neutral model that used more nurses and less doctors, thus cutting hours worked per week in half and keeping compensation constant for anesthesiologists and CRNAs.
Also, I've developed a joint venture agreement between our private practice that employs over 1500 doctors nationwide and a public institution to help improve best practices for both groups, share resources and research, and provide best in care peri-operative care to hospitals throughout the Houston area.
