Supported students in their transition to the university through explanation of policies, assistance with class selection and registration, and appropriate referrals to campus and community resources. Worked primarily with first year pre-medical, pre-pharmacy, biology, and chemistry students and undeclared international students (those in developmental coursework). Represented the Academic Advising Center at prospective student visit days. Explained advising services and reviewed Advanced Placement and concurrent enrollment transfer credit policies with students and their families.Developed programming for use in the advising center, residence halls, and new student orientation on a variety of topics such as academic support, choosing a major, and student success. Taught a seminar for the Unlocking College Academics Now program to help students on academic suspension identify and develop the skills they needed to be successful.

Provided direct supervision to four regional field representative supervisors and indirect supervision to over 40 field representatives throughout Asia. Monitored budgets and spending for all field representative offices.Ensured that staff received accurate information about policies and procedures. Communicated campus news, changes in procedure, and policy reminders through various channels such as newsletters and conference calls.

Assisted students and field staff with advising related questions via phone and email. Evaluated military, civilian, and exam credit according to Servicemember Opportunity College (SOC) and institutional guidelines. Prepared paper and electronic degree plans for students in all undergraduate programs. Adapted paper based graduation review procedures to new software (PeopleSoft). Monitored graduation review and clearance process; verified all student records for graduation clearance prior to registrar’s final approval.Served as point of contact and completed initial screening for general studies degree proposals.

Coordinated with Human Resources and the Office of the Director to create and maintain faculty records. Analyzed data and produced reports related to faculty teaching loads in order to assist the deans and regional directors in managing contracts and future term class schedules. Served as Asia campus point of contact for access to online library materials.Coordinated resources for faculty development workshops and newsletters. Organized materials related to faculty rank promotion applications.
Worked with students in the College of Science and Technology who were seeking a B.S. in Biology (various concentrations). Kept paper and electronic degree plans up to date. Collaborated with staff from Admissions and Records to complete graduation clearance using Degree Navigator software. Represented the college and department at various events on and off campus. Prepared reports related to registration and academic performance.
Processed applications for first time first year students. Reviewed data in Banner for conflicts or errors, contacted students when additional materials were needed, evaluated transcripts, made and recorded admission decisions.
Continued to support UVM students, this time in the College of Arts and Sciences. Assisted students with the processes and paperwork related to change of major, study abroad residency, withdrawal, and leave of absence. Provided administrative support to the assistant dean and academic advisors. Supervised staff of five work-study students.
Worked with an amazing and diverse group of people to help support students in the Living Learning Center. Collaborated with the hall council to provide small and large scale programming to residents.
Provided a warm welcome to admitted students and their families through a two day program (6 sessions over the course of each summer). Assisted graduate students and professional staff with the planning and execution of events. Facilitated small group discussions with students in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
