I am a recent graduate of UC Berkeley's Sociology Department, and therefore passionate about social justice issues. The majority of my work experience involves youth development, education, and college access. My only prerequisite for a job is that it disrupts the current social climate!
Managed a caseload of ten 12th grade students at McClymonds High School in West Oakland.
Provided informal and formal 1-on-1 advising to high school students regarding their individual post-high school plans.
Familiarized and guided students through UC, CSU, private, community college and financial aid applications.
Offered personal support for students, the majority being first generation, low-income, students of color.
Coordinated responsibilities with 3 other McClymonds advisors to complete all site tasks such as financial aid outreach, college presentations, site clean up, 1-on-1s, and follow-up with all 53 senior students.
Participated in weekly meetings with fellow EBC advisors to collaborate on and improve advising techniques.
