Certificate in Coaching

Having benefitted immensely from executive coaching, I decided to pursue a certificate at NYU to deepen my understanding of coaching techniques and philosophies. I coached clients during and after the program and the experience played a huge role in my decision to create a coaching-focused business centered around accessibility for young diverse professionals.

Define success on your own terms, achieve it by your own rules, and build a life you’re proud to live—Anne Sweeney

Senior Manager, Digital Business Development

I began as a Manager on Digital Business Development team, leading business and monetization strategies for Viacom networks (including MTV, VH1, CMT, Logo, Comedy Central, Spike, TV Land and Nick) and emerging platform and digital partners. Some of my well known clients included Snapchat, Kik, Twitter, Tumblr, Beamly, Flipboard. I enjoyed being at the forefront of innovation and helping a traditional media company grow and evolve its offerings.
I worked with Black and LGBT ERGs to develop company-wide professional development opportunities. This included unique opportunities to moderate discussions with memebers of the C-Suite and accomplished celebrities and activists, such as Janet Mock.

Business Analyst

My relationship with ESPN started as a summer intern. After grad school, I began as a Sales and Marketing Associate working on the strategy for Watch ESPN, the OTT space, and digital marketing tools. My next role in Business Strategy for Digital Video Distribution gave me the opportunity to work with ESPN, Disney, and ABC content. The work was exciting and I enjoyed ESPN's friendly, competitive environment. There's nothing like working for a place where sports is apart of every water cooler conversation!

Master of Arts, Management

After receiving the Hanesbrands Inc. Corporate Fellowship, staying in North Carolina for graduate school was an easy decision. At Hanesbrands, I worked with staff to evaluate internal cultural challenges and growth opportunities through collaboration with employees across departments and assisted internal and external Target Strategy team in annual goal setting and cross company relationship building. As a student, I also participated in Project Nicaragua and was selected as school representative in Managua, Nicaragua to develop business plans for local entrepreneurs and lead skill workshops.

People always ask me how I got to rural North Carolina from Brooklyn. I visited Davidson in early April of my senior year. Students were laying on the grass tanning, a strict honor code governed student interactions, and the intentionally small size of the student body created an intimacy on campus and the opportunity for any student to try just about anything. I'm always going to be a New Yorker first, but my time in the south has made me a fan of tailgating, sweet tea and the Cookout. Sweet Carolina.

Marymount School

My mother makes the joke that I wasn't raised, I was bred. It's sort of true. My all-girls education had an undeniable impact on how I would define myself as a woman. I was taught to always take the front seat in a room (sit at the table), to speak my mind articulately and openly, to take care in my presentation (uniform violations were no joke!), to embrace technology and to empower and encourage the women around me. The classes that took place across the street in the Met also helped develop my appreciation of art.
