My Primary base was PICP-Psych Intensive Care, but I floated to all of the other Psych Units if someone called in sick or took a vacation (Geropsych, Adult Psych, Adolesent Unit).`
Certified in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention.
Checked over children's school physicals and immunization records, contacted parents about getting records up to date.
I was certified through the State of IL as a Vision and Hearing Screener. I would perform these exams at schools. I overseen medications being taken by students during school hours and ensured all of the paperwork was correct. I performed lice checks and general First Aide as needed.
I would oversee all of the monthly medications for clients and make sure that all of their scheduled meds were in place and correct for the month. I would be in charge of getting meds changed and contacting the pharmacy to dispense new bubble cards. I was the only Licensed medical personnel for company-so I monitored personnel and certified to pass meds. I received a certification to do so. I taught a class to new staff for Nurses Aide/Med Passing. I was contacted for permission for PRN meds, performed monthly assessments, and reviewed incident reports. I then would assess the clients, if needed and contact MD's. Ensure all of their exams and MD appointments was scheduled for the upcoming year (PAPS Mammograms). I was also certified as a CPR and First Aide Instructor for adult, child, and infant through the American Red Cross. I was in charge of certifying staff. All of the yearly in-services such s Hand-washing, OSHA, etc... I also did for staff.
Performed Conscious Sedation for Interventional Radiologists during procedures such as Angiograms and CT Guided Biopsies. Remained ACLS and PALS Certified.
I was ACLS and PALS Certified, Participated and ran Code Blues for unit and hospital.
Worked in several different capacities as I as attending nursing school.
