Licensor Leader for HDHPLUS(R) Technology

• HDHPLUS(R) Technology Licensor leader supporting Puerto La Cruz Refinery Deep Conversion Project to implement the technology in first commercial plant
• Assigned as Project Chief of conceptual engineering package for Metal Recovery Unit to recover catalytic metals from unconverted product of HDHPLUS(R) technology. This development represents a reduction of 90 % of the total metals in catalyst consumption of DC RPLC project.
• Performed Process Safety Review, HAZOP and SIL studies for high pressure hydroconversion process unit, heavy residue vacuum distillation unit, slops handling and emergency depressuring units
• Performed 3D modeling of high pressure slurry piping layout and equipment location in accordance to technology specifications
• Performed and support catalyst activity studies to allowed sour water usage as sulfuring agent. This work represented a cost reduction of annual 300 M$ to the company
• Support to procurement teams in technical assurances of HDHPLUS technology critical equipment selection
• Assigned as HDHPLUS(R) Project Chief of Basic Engineering Package for Metal Recovery Unit. (Currently under development)
• Support the modeling of HDHPLUS(R) Slurry Feed Heater for dynamic responses under start-up, shutdown and upsets conditions.
• Assigned as licensor coordinator for operator training system (OTS) development for the commercial plant in DC RPLC project.

2006 to 2007
• Assigned as Process Engineer of the Hydroconversion Unit of the Technology Novel HDHPLUS® Process, responsible for the design and development of process related documents, Basis of Design, Process Description, PIDs, Equipments Datasheets and many others process evaluations technical specification during the Basic Engineering Phase of the Puerto La Cruz Refinery Deep Conversion Project.
• Developed as a part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, the up-set operational guidelines for the first commercial plant of HDHPLUS®.

2007 to 2009
• Assigned as the Lead Process Engineer of the Hydroconversion Unit ® and reinforce Process Engineer for Emergency Quench and Blowdown unit, Residue Work-Up, Additive and Catalyst, Hydrogen Compression Units of HDHPLUS®.
• Developed H&MB, PID’s, Control Philosophy and process related documents during the Basic Engineering Phase of Puerto La Cruz Refinery for the HDHPLUS® complex.
• Coordinate a multidisciplinary engineering team to develop the operational guidelines of the HDHPLUS® complex to Puerto La Cruz Refinery Deep Conversion Project
• Colaborate to develop a slurry phase fludynamic and reaction model for HDHPLUS(R) Technology
• Develop the detail desing of Three Phase Flow of High Pressure High Temperature Separator for HDHPLUS(R) technology
• Develop and performed jontly with JGC Engineering Corporation Japan and PDVSA Puerto La Cruz Refinery the Process Safety Review Studies for (4) core process units of HDHPLUS(R) technology comercial implementation
• Develop a gasification modeling method to predict syngas products from Venezuelan petcokes to produce hydrogen. This work is part of Msc.of Process Engineering studies to be concluded in 2013
