Achieving Collegiate Excellence and Success (ACES) is Montgomery College’s flagship college pathways program. The program was established in 2013 and it is a partnership between Montgomery County Public Schools, Montgomery College and Universities at Shady Grove. The mission of the program is to provide resources and access to higher education and follow them from high school to the completion of the Bachelors Degree.

Current responsibilities include:
• Collaborate with high school counselors, ACES Director, and other ACES High School and Campus Coaches to identify students in the target population and assist them with the program application processes
• Participate, along with the director and other academic coaches, in the selection process
• Provide information sessions to students and parents to assist them in understanding the benefits of the program
• Meet regularly with designated high school liaison to establish and maintain positive working relationships and identify resources needed, either through Montgomery College (MC) or Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
• Provide ongoing communication with ACES admitted students, the high school, and parents
• Organize workshops correlating with: career awareness, college applications, scholarships, financial aid, resume building, selecting a major, and others in line with our mission statement
• Assist students address barriers to academic and personal success
• Develop student opportunities for attending events, academic demonstrations, or other social and educational experiences
