Town of Ipswich

Deputy Shellfish Constable

As a Deputy Shellfish Constable, I enforce shellfish regulations of the town. The most important aspect of my job is to enforce clam bed closures, since shellfish are filter feeders they can collect Ecoli in their bodies and potentially make people sick if they eat the clams. The clams will eventually filter out after a period of time and become safe to eat again.

University of South Florida

Bachelor of Science, Biology

Since I was a kid I knew I wanted to go into the science field, so I pursued a degree in biology. I especially enjoyed classes pertaining to ecology and conservation. These classes taught me that conservation is very important because of how humans have an effect on our environment. This has lead me to pursue careers in conservation efforts and environmental science fields.
