Tech-enabled Growth

Over the last year, I was the Operations Manager for The Art of Applying - a top graduate school admissions consulting company, founded by a Harvard MBA & MPA. Afterwards, I served as a Marketing and Business Development Manager for Austin Coding Academy, a then scaling part-time coding school. I've loved working for a startup out of Austin's tech incubator, Capital Factory!

Home

Austin, Texas

The city has gone through some major changes over the last ten years, though I still love it. While I can get restless staying in the same place for too long - and routinely feel a travel itch - Austin will always be home. It is what has made me always just a little "weird" - Keep Austin Weird! Support Small Businesses :)

Girl Power

Women's and girl's empowerment has always been extremely important to my identity. Since high school in Austin, I volunteered with the Girls Empowerment Network of Austin (now just GEN): www.genaustin.org. I routinely also volunteer with Con Mi Madre (www.conmimadre.org), and Latinitas (www.latinitas.org) to mentor and inspire the next generation of powerful women.

Urban Co-Lab

Community Embassador

Urban Co-Lab is Austin's newest business accelerator and co-working space. What makes us unique is our focus on social entrepreneurship and local economic development. At the corner of 12th and Chicon, in a renovated homeless center and brothel, Urban Co-Lab strives to preserve Austin's ethnic histories and communities, while embracing Austin as a growing tech and innovation capital. www.urbanco-lab.com

I raise awareness of and recruit entrepreneurs to the space. It's a great community!

Career

BuildASign.com

Giving Program Associate

I worked as an Account Manager with BuildASign.com's self-sustaining social enterprise and philanthropy department: The Giving Program. I loved learning how a small-to-medium sized business worked hard to have giving back as a company tenant, and hope to spread these practices and beliefs in my future private-sector endeavors.

Amherst College

Bachelors of Arts in Psychology

Liberals arts, FTW. I walked across the Amherst College stage knowing I wasn't going to use my degree to become the psychologist I thought I'd be; but with a thirst to affect social and political structures at any level I could. I am ever-grateful for the brilliant and ambitions friends I attended school with, who challenged me to pursue life trajectory I would never have known otherwise. They motivated me to never play small.
