I believe in mobilizing communities by enabling the youth of a culture to develop their own solutions. My most recent work focuses on health and gender rights research in Ethiopia.

The University of Montana

MA, Global Youth Development

As a Master's candidate in Missoula, I learned the theoretical backbone of youth development and cross-cultural counseling. I completed my degree after spending 2 years in the Peace Corps applying my education and gathering firsthand research. My thesis details the best practices to increase gender involvement in developmental interventions taking place in rural Ethiopia.

The University of Notre Dame

BA, Psychology and Peace Studies

During my time at Notre Dame, my studies focused on the psychology of youth security in the international context. The university's philosophy of social justice deeply shaped my undergraduate experience. Not only did I receive a top-notch education, I also I spent my summers working as a houseparent and teacher for group homes in New Orleans and Thailand, and as a Volunteer and Food Coordinator at a local shelter in my hometown in California. My undergraduate thesis was on the application of emotional security theory (EST) for children in nontraditional, multi-cultural group home settings.
