Region 10 WIE Information Manager

IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) is the largest international professional organization dedicated to promoting women engineers and scientists and inspiring girls around the world to follow their academic interests to a career in engineering.

The IEEE Region 10, also sometimes referred as the Asia Pacific Region, comprises of 57 Sections, 6 Councils, 17 Sub-sections, 515 Chapters, 60 Affinity Groups and 958 Student Branches. It covers a geographical area stretching from South Korea and Japan in the north-east to New Zealand in the south, and Pakistan in the west. With a membership of 107,154, it is one of the largest regions in IEEE.

WIE Chairperson - IEEE Student Branch CEC

The IEEE Student branch (60451) of College of Engineering, Chengannur came into existence on 16th September 1996, three years after the establishment of the college. Since then, the student branch has been ardent in pursuing its mission to deliver the graduate and under graduate students under any engineering stream with opportunities for their technical and professional development.

Through the years, the branch has come a long way and has consolidated its position in the Kerala Section and Region 10 as one of the largest and most vibrant students branches.

The Student Branch has always been a major power in driving numerous activities of the section and many of its members are still acclaimed as pioneers of the same. It has set up a benchmark for all the student branches in the section by sharing its experience about its journey from a humble beginning to be one of the most influential student branches in Kerala Section.

The IEEE Electronic Communication and Information Management (ECIM) Social Media Crew facilitates the electronic dissemination of information and collaboration with IEEE volunteers and members in Region 10 (Asia-Pacific). The crew drives interactions and discussions on social media across different platforms, conducts surveys, online competitions and also promotes various IEEE events in the region.
