+ Established myself as the go-to person for corporate customers in Mombasa to process new applications and/or inward transactions under commercial letters of credit, guarantees, standby credits, documentary collections, bills avalisation, acceptances, bills discounting, examination of documents and handling of discrepancies in documents.
+ Built a high level of trust from clients and colleagues alike to provide specialist advice regarding trade finance instruments like LCs, collections and guarantees relative to applicable ICC rules and International Standard Banking Practice.
+ Undertook a personal initiative in 2013 to review the entire guarantees portfolio held in Mombasa to drive profit growth by ensuring there were no income leakages resulting from uncollected commissions and interest income resulting from by system bugs, tariff application or operational errors.
+ Monitoring clients' utilisation and expiry dates on existing credit lines, preparation of draft trade instruments required for new customer propositions, maintenance of diary systems for maturing term bills and other credit facilities etc.
+ Proactively developed and maintained good working relationships with relevant stakeholders/teams e.g Financial Sanctions, Trade Products, Corporate Credit Unit and relationship managers with the aim of improving efficiency in workflow processing.
+ Played a key role in monitoring contingent liabilities in both in-country and group wide systems.
+ Enrolled and obtained 6 specialist accreditations from the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in 2014.
+ Attained CDCS (Certificate for Documentary Credit Specialists) qualification from IFS/ICC in 2015.
+ Proficient in processing of SWIFT payment transactions.
+ Advanced level knowledge in SWIFT Messaging Standards.
+ Internally accredited in Records Management, Information Risk Management, Data Privacy and Logical Access Management standards.
