Interush had a vision of expanding the current infrastructure and making it more secure. "It is time for a more Enterprise Environment" they said. As the Windows System Administrator I was responsible to complete numerous new projects to meet SOX compliance. In addition to the projects my primary role was to maintain and administrate the VMWare and Windows Environment. This included not only servers, but the desktop support as well.


Project Highlights:
• Plan and implement new VMWare ESXi 5/ IBM SAN infrastructure.
o Work with Network Admin to install 10GB Copper Ethernet Juniper backbone
o Install and configure IBM SAN Appliance for use with virtual environment
o Install and configure 6 virtual hosts for 50+ virtual machines.
o Install and configure VMware specific appliance for security and backups
• Plan and implement new Windows Server 2012 environment.
o Including implementation of new Active Directory environment for 120+ users and migration of systems and users to the new setup.
o Terminal Server for remote access of applications
• Install and configure Juniper MAG2600 for new VPN setup
• Replace old Corporate Office network equipment
o Install and configure new Fortigate firewalls, with attached Aps
o Install and configure Cisco Smart Switches for us with VLANs for network security and segregation.
• Assist Finance with migration form Navision to Navision 3013

Key Duties:
• Complete above projects to begin SOX Compliance
• Maintaining, upgrading the virtual environment and Windows computer systems of Interush Inc.
• Assist with end user support
• Participate in After Hours rotations and NOC alerts
• Connectivity and security

Santa Monica Seafood

Systems Administrator

The System Administrator is responsible for maintaining the computer systems of Santa Monica Seafood. Server management is a primary responsibility, and the System Administrator would be responsible for installing, maintaining and upgrading servers. I am also responsible for ensuring the servers are backed up, and that the server data is secure from unauthorized access. System administrators will also often perform light programming (usually scripting, which involves writing programs to automate tasks). I also administer processes and equipment of Retail POS, Warehouse Management equipment, ERP and more. In addition to that the Systems Admin role also assists the IT Manager with Project Management, Sites and Service and Networking.

Key Duties:
• Maintaining, upgrading the computer systems of Santa Monica Seafood
o 21 Servers (a mix of Windows and Linux)
o 180+ Desktops and laptops ( a mix of Windows and Mac)
o Maintain VMware and SAN infrastructure
o Network devise from Routers, Switches, Aps, Firewalls and the like
o Enterprise technologies such as Active Directory, Group Policy SQL and the like
o Warehouse equipment such as thin clients, hand and wearable scanners temperature monitors and alarms.
o Cell phones, Smart Phones and Tablets
o Printers and peripherals
• Backup and disaster recovery
• Connectivity and security
• Level 1, Level 2 and escalation support for employees

IT Account Manager

As an IT Account Manager for Slingstone IT I wore many different hats. Skills and tasks ranged from simple desktop support to advanced Systems Administrator. Anything you can think of aside if programming we did. Exchange, Windows, Linux, Networking, email OS, phones etc... etc... etc...

In a nutshell, I was the leader of the IT department for dozens of organizations large and small. I found the right tool or opportunity for the job and got it done. But I did not stop there. I double checked to be sure the options and solutions put in place were the right choice and continued to work properly and fit the customers need.
