Freelance Journalist and Writer
June 2016 — Present
Freelance writing and reporting requires quick thinking and responsive analysis of what is newsworthy and what can be pushed aside when faced with measuring the potential increase in media presence.
I travel the city by foot and public transit, I often move from one politically motivated event to another. Between protests outside the White House gates to Capitol Hill press conferences and congressional votes, I am able to conduct on the ground reporting.
Producing material for publication can be taxing but nothing compared to finding a publication that will pay for my services. Networking is a valuable asset. My approach to develop relationships is continuing a credible presence among sources who speak on and off the record. In a competitive city such as DC, I have learned that sincerity and attentiveness produce the best networking successes.
