My Power Outfit

I was featured in Levo's "My Power Outfit", where I got to talk about why I wear bright colors, share some tips on making it as a woman in the music industry, and explain how my earrings help me steer clear of drama.

Def Jam Recordings

Senior Director of Marketing and Head of Video Promotions

Day to day, I get to work with talented artists to promote their brands and their music, which means I can be in the office one day and out at a show, or shoot, on another! I've learned to be ready to work no matter the environment - my 15+ years in the industry has taught me that.

My Career Advice

The woman who is smart, does great work, is professional, is thick-skinned, and has relationships will be a guaranteed success story. Throw style, strategy, and charm in the mix and you now have what I refer to as “a beast.”

Universal Music Group

Senior Director of Visual Media

I'm incredibly passionate about my role - I get to strategically market a group of talented Def Jam artists, which means working on a huge scope of work. I also control all the moving pieces of an artist's visual media: from video premieres and pitching award show ideas, to artist appearances and interviews - any way to help visually share their music with the world.

Take A Break!

We work so hard and when we're on the grind so much, we often don't reward ourselves as much as we should. So lately I’ve been telling myself, “Dana, go travel. Get out of the country. Treat yourself every now and then.”

Where I Learned to Hustle

I've been all over the entertainment industry - I got my start as a casting assistant at VH1. After a year there, I moved over to Nickelodeon where I was able to work with on-air and A-list talent for various shows, such as The Kids’ Choice Awards. I worked there for over five years before heading to my current home at Def Jam.
