I am a connector, catalyst, builder and strategist who currently serves as a strategic advisor to UP Global, the newly formed entity launched by Startup America and Startup Weekend. I also am an Entrepreneur-In-Residence to the Whiteboard in CT (my home state) and an advisor and coach to a number of early stage ventures.
Most recently, I was part of the founding team and the Chief Operating Officer to the Startup America Partnership, the growing network of startup ecosystems. I led the relationships with Startup America’s founding sponsors, the Case Foundation and the Kauffman Foundation and with its key public partner, the White House. I also worked closely with Startup America’s regional Champions, its corporate sponsors and key partners to further Startup America’s mission of supporting high growth companies and their founders.
Previously, I spent two years in public service, building and growing the district offices for Congressman Jim Himes, who was first elected to office in 2008. As District Director, I collaborated in setting strategic priorities and initiatives for the district and in advising the Congressman regarding on matters impacting the district and, among other things, involving his Financial Services and Homeland Security committee assignments. I had also served as a senior staffer to his campaign. Finally, I spent over 10 years an an attorney in the private sector.
