Tomorrow marks a very special day at Levo League as Freyan Billimoria kicks off her new gig as the host of our interactive video series Office Hours. So who is this lovely lady who will be invading your laptop twice a week and hooking you up with our roster of amazing speakers? Let’s find out!

Name?

Freyan Billimoria (pronounced Free-yan)

Education?

I graduated from University of California, Berkeley. I actually created my own interdisciplinary major focused on globalization with a minor in English.

Job at Levo?

Director of Leadership Engagement at Levo

Where are you from?

I’m from the Bay Area, the land of fast companies and easy avocados.  I’ve lived in New York for the past three years and currently call Brooklyn home.

What did you want to be growing up?

As a 5-year-old, I wanted a different job for every day of the week. By 14, I had narrowed it to a combination of psychiatrist-event planner-diplomat. Luckily, my current role has elements of all three!

What has your career path been? How did you end up at Levo?

I actually began my career organizing concerts in college, so my path here has been a little roundabout! After a brief experiment with luxury marketing, I joined Teach For America, first in the San Francisco office, where I managed donor relations, and later in New York, where I helped launch new regions as part of the growth strategy team. After that, I was Director of Development at The White House Project, which is where I first met the ladies of Levo. The rest, as they say, is history.

Why Levo?

When I was an impressionable young intern, I walked into a packed ballroom, described as a meeting of “the most powerful people in Silicon Valley”—and found myself in a room that was almost entirely male. It made a lasting impression and I am grateful that I get to wake up every day to change that reality.

What is the most exciting thing about being the host of Office Hours?

The opportunity to give our community an intimate, authentic look at the life of a leader is incredibly exciting, and I’m honored to be part of that process.

What is your favorite thing about working at Levo?

The people! Hands down. Every day I get to spend time with the brightest, warmest people I know (with a whole lot of snacks thrown in).

The snacks are excellent. Who are your dream Office Hour guests?

Dr. Jill Biden, for continuing her career despite her spouse’s position; Mindy Kaling, for some serious real talk; as well as Tom Rath and Barry Conchie for the revolutionary StrengthsFinder 2.0, required reading for everyone in my life.

We have no doubt Freyan will book all of these fabulous people soon! Congrats and we can’t wait to see you in action!
