Although we are conditioned to believe that summertime should consist of rest and relaxation, sometimes this is not the case. In less than two weeks, you have a friend’s wedding to attend and you still don’t have a dress. You’re also traveling every other weekend, which is tiring enough, but airports tend to make everyone anxious. Have you ever wondered why that is? As each minute goes by, you may find yourself thinking about how the warm months will soon come to an end. If you can’t make it to the beach once a week to relax, don’t worry – there are some great apps that can assist you in decluttering your mind.

1. MindMeister

If you’re anything like me, your mind is always on the go. You’re constantly thinking about new things and forgetting what you were just thinking about. Do you ever feel like your ideas are all over the place? If so, then MindMeister is perfect for you. With this app, you can create mind maps to organize your thoughts. Plus, it lets you file them in different folders according to project, task, or attachment. And if you want to share your genius plans with friends or coworkers, that’s easy too. Otherwise, keep them completely private–the choice is yours!

2. Calm

If you’re hesitant to try meditation because you think it will take too much time out of your day, don’t worry! You can start with just two minutes. And if meditation really isn’t your thing, that’s okay too. Calm also provides beautiful nature scenes and soothing sounds to help you focus. Just looking at a peaceful forest while hearing birds chirping can be incredibly calming.

3. Diaro

Diaro is extremely helpful in not only keeping track of your thoughts, activities, and accomplishments day-to-day, but you can also filter and search by keywords. And let’s be honest–who actually has the time or mental capacity to remember all of the tiny details like where you had lunch last Tuesday or what page you’re on in that work report due soon? With Diaro, there’s no need to worry about forgetting those things!

4. Headspace

Consider headspace your “personal trainer,” but for your peace of mind. You’ll be guided through mindfulness and meditation practices for only 10 minutes each day with the goal of reducing stress and increasing present-moment awareness. Also, Emma Watson is a huge supporter!

5. Squeeze and Shake Stress Relief

This app is designed to help relieve stress and it does so in a fun way. It’s like a stress ball but in the shape of a rubber duck. So not only will you feel the relief, but it’ll bring a smile to your face, too. And if you shake your phone, it vibrates. Oooooo

6. Worry Box

We all have irrational fears and things we worry about despite knowing that there’s nothing we can do to change them. Worry Box is the solution for those anxieties- simply write down your worries and store them in the app. They’ll be out of your mind and you can stop worrying (until you choose to look at them again, which the app does allow.)

7. Alongways

Often, when people are on vacation, they spend more time thinking about the smaller details instead of enjoying themselves. Where should we eat lunch? Is there a dog park nearby? With Alongways trip planner, you can input your destination and simplify those worries into one “Worry Box.” dump away all of your small concerns so you can finally enjoy yourself on vacation!
